ORDERS OF REFERENCE.
Extract from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the ]4tii Day of July, 1927. Ordered, " That a Select Committee be appointed, consisting of ten members, to whom shall be referred all Bills specially dealing with the revision of the law ; with power to confer and sit together with any similar Committee appointed by the Legislative Council; the Committee to have power to call for persons, papers, and records ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Field, Mr. H. E. Holland, Mr. E. P. Lee, Mr. Lvsnar Mr. H. G. R. Mason, Mr. J. Mason, Mr. Sidey, the Hon. Mr. Downie Stewart, Mr. Wilford, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Rolleston.) Memorandum for the Chairman of the, Statutes Revision Committee. The Bill intituled " An Act to amend the Property Law Act, .1908," having been read a second time in the House ■of Representatives on the 15th July, 1927, stands referred to the Statutes Revision Committee for report. Ordered, "That the Juries Amendment Bill (No. 2) be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." (Mr. H. G. R. Mason.) Tuesday, the 23rd Day of August, 1927. Ordered, " That the Bankruptcy Amendment Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." (Hon. Mr. Rolleston.) Tuesday, the 4th Day of October, 1927. Ordered, " That the Magistrates' Courts Amendment Bill be referred to the Statutes Revision Committee." {Hon. Mr. Roli.eston.)

REPORTS. Property Law Amendment Bill. The Statutes Revision Committee, to which was referred the Property Law Amendment Bill, has the honour to report that it has carefully considered same, and recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with the amendments shown on the copy of the Bill annexed hereto. Ist September, 1927.
Bankruptcy Amendment Bill. The Statutes Revision Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that the said Bill has been carefully considered, and that the Committee recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with amendments as shown on the copy of the Bill attached hereto. 4th October, 1927.
Juries Amendment Bill (No. 2). The Statutes Revision Committee, to which was referred the Juries Amendment Bill (No. 2), has the honour to report that it has carefully considered the same, and recommends that, as the subjectmatter of the Bill, with the exception of clause 3, is not appropriate as an amendment of the Juries Act, the Bill be not allowed to proceed in its present form. 6th October, 1927.
Magistrates' Courts Amendment Bill. The Statutes Revision Committee, to which was referred the above-mentioned Bill, has the honour to report that the said Bill has been carefully considered, and that the Committee recommends that it be allowed to proceed, with amendments as shown on the copy of the Bill attached hereto. 17th October, 1927.
Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee desires to place on record itsappreciation of the capable and impartial manner in which the Chairman, Mr. John Mason, has conducted the business of the Committee during the present session ; and further desires that this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the Committee and be reported to the House. Special Report. I have the honour to report that the Statutes Revision Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the work done during the session by the Clerk to the Committee (Mr. W. J. Organ), and directs that this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the Committee and be reported to the House. 29th November, 1927.
Final Report. I have the honour to report that the Statues Revision Committee held its final meeting on the 28th November. During the session the Committee, consisting of ten members, has held seven meetings. The average attendance of members at each meeting was six. Four Bills—namely, Property Law Amendment, Juries Amendment (No. 2), Bankruptcy Amendment, and Magistrates' Courts Amendment —were considered by the Committee and reported to the House. 29th November, 1927.
