The Native Affairs Committee has the honour to report that at the final meeting of the Committee, held on Monday, the 9th day of December, the following resolution was unanimously carried : — "That the Committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the ability, tact, and courtesy displayed by the Chairman, Mr. J. Final Report. 1 have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting on Monday, the 9th day of December. During the session the Committee met on 9 occasions, with an average attendance of 4. Including 92 petitions brought forward from last session, the Committee had before it 123 petitions. Of these, 39 were considered and reported on, and the remaining 86 are held over until next session. Upon 6 the Committee reported favourably, upon 30 it had no recommendation to make, and 4 were withdrawn. The Native Land Amendment and Native Laud Claims Adjustment Bill was referred to the Committee, and was duly considered and reported upon. Two parliamentary papers were referred to the Committee, and were duly considered and reported upon. The total number of reports presented to the House was 43. 9th December, 1918.
