List of Mining Companies in Reefton District and Vicinity, the Managers of which published the Statements of their Affairs in this Year's Gazette, showing the Value of Scrip given to Shareholders on which no Cash was received.

It will be seen from this that, out of the companies whose statements of affairs were published in the Gazette this year, shares to the value of £149,631 ss. were given to the shareholders for which no cash was received; while the actual cash paid in calls was £83,522 6s. 2d. This shows that 64 per cent, of the actual capital was handed to shareholders for which no money was paid.

This shows that about 70 per cent, of the actual capital was given to shareholders for which no money was paid. These are only a few of the companies, there being no way of arriving at the amount given away in scrip for which no cash was paid before 1887.
