AWARD OF D.F.C.
SOUTH ISLAND OFFICER DUNEDIN. Thursday Advice has been received that Flying-Officer Thomas A. Stewart, son of Mr and Mrs R. R. Stewart, late of Waihola, has been awarded the distingunished Flying Cross. In 1939 he qualified as a pilot-offi-cer in New Zealand. He then left to take up a commission with the Royal Air Force, and for the past nine months has been serving with a bomber squadron in the Middle East.
