COMMISSION WON

SERGEANT FROM FRANKTON News has been received by Mr and Mrs W. H. Barnsdall, of Grand Vue Road, Frankton, that their son, Sergeant J. R. R. (Bob) Barnsdall, of the Divisional Signals, has been promoted Second-Lieutenant. Second-Lieutenant Barnsdall was educated at the Frankton Public School and the Hamilton Technical College and was employed in the Post and Telegraph Engineer’s Department when he enlisted for service overseas. He left New Zealand with a small body of specialists who went before the First Echelon sailed. He participated in the Libyan, Greek and Cretan campaigns and was slightly wounded in the final campaign.
