USE OF BATHS BY SCHOOL (Special to Times) TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday The Mavor, Mr L. G. Armstrong, presided at the fortnightly meeting or the Te Awamutu Borough Council. Leave or absence was grafted to Mr F. Parsons. A deputation from the Dristict High aaid Primary Schools Committees comprising Messrs G. B. Melrose, C. 'M. Wall, W. G. Smith and N. t Rigby waited on the •Council with a request that arrangements for the use or the baths by the school be made as soon as possible and that the charge made previously be revised. After a suggestion that the swimming club be reformed the Mayor moved that pending the calling of a public meeting for the purpose of forming the club thp j schools have the free use or the baths during school hours. This was agreed ito and the Mayor undertook to call a meet- | lng at an early date. It was also dej eided to appoint a caretaker and attend to certain matters mentioned by the Health Inspector. Newton King, Limited, Wright Stephenson and Company. Limited, were granted the use or the saleyards for rortnlgntiy sale* on Mondays in the 194 2 season. It was decided to ofTer the Waipa County Council £2 00 to be spread over three years toward the cost or work on the Te Rahu Road which leads to the cemetery. Messrs Swarbrick and ■S-warbrlck advised that the Local Government Loans Board had approved a loan or £2300 Tor the making or the new stock rouff* from Tawhaio street to the railway. The Council accepted the terms and mstr»ctions will be given to take the necessary poll.
