LABOUR CHOOSES CANDIDATE GISBORNE BUSINESS MAN (By Telegraph. I-: .-" A 'soclatluii > ' WELLINGTON, Wednesday The secretary of the New Zealand Labour Party announces that Mr Charles Mills, J.P., has been selected to contest the Bay of Plenty seat at the by-election on behalf of the Labour Party. He is a returned soldier, having served three years overseas in ti%* last war, and has a long record of public service in the Bay of Plenty. He is 47 years of age, and is a business man of Gisborne. The by-election for the vacancy in the House of Representatives caused by the death of Lieutenant A. G. Hultquist will be held on Saturday, December 13. The writ will be issued on November 24 and nominations will ciose on November 26.
