PRACTICE OF MACHINE FITTERS COURT IMPOSES FINES (By Telegraph WAIHI, Wednesday If it is true that all milking machine companies do this sort of thing, the sooner publicity is given the better, said Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court this morning in imposing fines cf £5 and £1 on a milking machine fitter, who, when pleading guilty to charges of having done electrical wiring work at farms near Waihi when not registered, stated that the practice was general. The magistrate said that although defendant might not endanger himself there was always the likelihood of someone else being electrocuted. Moreover such practices enabled lower prices to be quoted, when registered electricians should be called in.
