PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENTS

CONTROL BEING CONSIDERED (By Telegrapn.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Tuesday “I am very concerned at the continued prevalence of pedestrian accidents,” stated the Commissioner of Transport, Mr G. L. Laurenson, in a letter received by the executive committee of the South Island Motor Union tonight. The letter was in reply to a request that regulations and by-laws affecting pedestrians should be enforced in the same way as those governing motorists. The commissioner stated that special consideration was being given to pedestrian control and he would advise the union as to what action it would be found possible to take.
