MINISTER WELCOMED
At the close of the induction serI vice on Thursday evening, a social | hour was spent in the Matangi Church hall, to extend the Rev. Basil Nottage and Mrs Nottage a welcome to the Waikato East Presbyterian charge. The Rev. Hitchcock, of Cambridge, inter-moderator, presided, and alter welcoming the newly-appointed minister and his wife, called on Mr J. McDowell, Mr A. M. Campbell and Mrs Jamieson to say a few words on behalf of the different organisations of the church. Mrs Jamieson presented Mrs Nottage with a beautiful bouquet. The Rev. Gatman spoke a few words of welcome on behalf of the Methodist connection. Mr and Mrs Nottage both suitably replied. Later in the evening Mr Campbell presented Mr Hitchcock with two hooks on behalf of the managers, as a token of esteem and in appreciation of his help as inter-modera-tor during the vacancy of the charge.
