MEDICAL BENEFITS
MOVE IN NORTH SPECIAL AREA PROPOSED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WHANGAREI, Tuesday The Whangaroa Hospital Board today discussed a proposal by the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer, in connection with the Social Security Act. The Minister had proposed that the Whangaroa County be constituted a special area under the Act, whereby the medical superintendent of the hospital becomes a full-time employee of the board, which would undertake the operation of the free medical benefits, receiving capitation per head of population, which is mainly Maori. The board, while sympathetic, asked for further information before committing itself.
