PILOT MISSING

AIRMAN FROM AUCKLAND (By Telegraph.—Special to Times) AUCKLAND, Tuesday Advice has been received by Mr J. H. Webb, of 4 Richardson Road, Mount Albert, that his son, SergeantPilot Thomas Geoffrey Webb, has been reported missing. It was stated that his aircraft tailed to return from an operational flight on March 12. Educated at the Mount Albert Grammar School, Sergeant-Pilot Webb, who is only 19, was a keen rower, being a member of the school’s eight and four. After training at Levin, Taieri and Wigram, he left for England on October 5, 1940, and is believed to have been flying Wellington bombers. He was granted a short term commission in the Royal Air Force shortly before the outbreak of war, but was later required to undergo his training in New Zealand and a* a sergeant-pilot.
