PERFORMERS’ CLUB

“BARTER NIGHT” Mr G. Kingston’s studio bore resemblance to an auction mart on Saturday when the Hamilton Performers’ Club held a “Barter Night.” The large number of articles, to which each member had contributed, consisted mainly of fruit and vegetables, and that the novelty of the idea appealed to the members was evidenced in the animated and amusing exchange of “goods.” During the evening an excellent programme was presented, and dancing was enjoyed to music supplied by Mr W. Whitehead. The programme was as follows: Selections by Mr A. McLachlan’s orchestra; songs, Mrs F. Greer; songs, Mr S. Carroll; tap dances, Miss Nancy Howell; ’cello solos, Miss Yvonne McLachlan; sketch, “Three Little Maids,” Mrs H. D. Curling and Misses L. Swarbrick, B. Furby and N. King. Among those present were:—Mesdames W. Whitehead, F. Greer, H. D. Curling, J. Sullivan, A. McLachlan. Misses Nell King. Leonie Swarbrick, G. Skinner, Dorothy White, Yvonne McLachlan, Gwyneth Powell, Des Liddy, Phil Kear, Betty Furby, Roie Docherty, Poppy McLachlan, Allison Storey, Rae Melrose, Merlyn Heerdegen. Cecelia McLachlan, Dulcie Griffiths, j. Coombes. L. McLean, Nancy Howell, D. Coombes, L. Sturgeon.
