GOLF OPENING
HAMILTON CLUB MIXED FOURSOMES PLAYED The Hamilton Golf Club held its official opening at St. Andrews on Saturday in perfect weather. The president, Mr K. McLeod, declared the links open for play and the club captain, Mr E. H. Grocott, hit the first ball of the season off at the Unit tee. Canadian mixed foursomes were played and after afternoon tea the president welcomed the visitors and made reference to those members who were serving with the armed forces overseas. Mr H. Frod, of the Matamata Club, replied on behalf of the visitors and congratulated the club on the excellent condition of the links. Following were the best cards handed in:—Mrs Sandford and K. McLeod. 57—11, 46 (won on * count back); Mrs Edwards and AicAmder*
