Messages from neutral sources say ' that the Royal Air Force’s blows came as a great shock to the population, because the authorities encouraged the belief that the lull was due to the fact that augmented forces made such raids impossible. A report from Zurich says that the damage during the last two nights was heavier than that in all previous raids put together.
