NEW CONSUL-GENERAL
UNITED STATES APPOINTMENT MR RAYMOND EDWIN COX (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday New Zealand Consul-General for the United States will not be Mr Wesley Frost as previously announced, but Mr Raymond Edwin Cox. Mr Frost has now been appointed Minister at Asuncion, Paraguay, and Mr Cox assigned to the Wellington post. He will arrive in the latter part of April. Born in Massachussetts, Mr Cox graduated from Yale in 1915. A large part of his time has been spent in Latin America. He was attached to the American Embassy in London from 1926 to 1934 and recently has been at Oslo, Norway. Mr Lowell C. Pinkerton, recently Consul-General at Wellington, has been appointed to the ConsulateGeneral in Jersualem. This is one of the most important posts in the foreign service because of its situation in the Middle East; also because of the United States’ interests in the development of the Holy Land and tne considerable administrative duties tnese interests create.
