95th. BIRTHDAY

FRANKTON MAN CELEBRATES Mr John Ross, of 11 Bandon Street, Frankiton, celebrated his 95th birthday yesterday. Born in Rosshire, Scotland m 1846, Mr Ross came to New Zealand in 1879. He took up a farm of 450 acres of unimproved land at Harapepe in 1881 and farmed this area for 33 years, retiring to live at Whatawhata in 1914. He came to Frarikton in 192*.

Of his original family of four, two survive, Mrs John Thomson, Dinsdale Road, Frankton, and Mr John Ross, of Ruawai, Northern Wairoa. There are eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mr Ross still enjoys good health and takes a great interest in current events.
