LIGHTING RESTRICTED

BLACKOUT AT WELLINGTON GLOW STILL TOO GREAT (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Friday Formal notice of further restrictions on lighting as from Tuesday has been issued by the Mayor, Mr T. C. A. Hislop, as chairman of the Wellington emergency precautions organisation. The results of observations made by the Marine Department have shown that the glow is still too great. The restrictions mentioned are chiefly concerned with verandah and shop lighting and illuminated signs, but the reductions now ordered apply between sunset and sunrise, permitting the owners of coloured signs to display them during the day. It is stated that approximately 1000 street lamps are already shrouded.
