DRY SPELL BROKEN

HEAVY SHOWERS TODAY FARMS AND GARDENS BENEFIT Following drizzling rain last night very heavy showers were experienced in Hamilton to-day. The change brought some relief from the humid conditions prevailing for the past few days and should prove of great benefit to farms and gardens. Peat fires, which have been raging in some areas, were for the most part extinguished by the rain. March has been a very dry month to date, only .30in. having been so far recorded. For the 24 hours ended 9 a.m. this morning .13in. were recorded. Two or three days of heavy rain would be appreciated by farmers for pastures had begun to dry up rather noticeably and the seasonal decline in production was being accelerated.
