FILBERT WINS HIGHWEIGHT EVER ENGLAND SCORES KINDERGARTEN WINS STAKES (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday The Wellington Racing Club's autumn meeting .opened at Trentbam to-day in line weather alter light rain had been experienced in the morning. There was a fair attendance and tile going was in splendid order. A feature of the Trial Plate was the fact that the three placed horses, Ever England, Wild Fox and Piiyto, were all sired by the Waikato sire, l-'oxbridge, the winner, incidentally making his first appearance in company. REGATTA DAY OUTING AT NGARUAWAHIA SATURDAY’S SPLENDID ENTRIES This year the annual regatta at Ngaruawahia is to be held an Saturday, March 15, and once again preparations have been made to provide interest and entertainment for a huge thrang of holiday-makers. A first-class programme of sporting events has been arranged, and this has attracted splendid entries. In addition there will be the usual number of sideshows and other attractions that go to make a Ngaruawahia regatta enjoyable in every respect. National dancing and Maori events will, as usual, be specially attractive features.
