Action is the keynote of the film, and a thrilling duel to the death climaxes the adventures of the masked marauder. REGENT THEATRE The film adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, "Pride and Prejudice,” continues to delight audiences. Laurence Olivier who made such an impression with his portrayal in “Rebecca,” plays the role of Mr Darcy, a rich and attractive bachelor, while Greer Garson is very charming as Elizabeth Bennett. Edna May Oliver appears as Lady Catherine de Brough, while , Maureen O’Sullivan pleases as Jane Bennett. STATE THEATRE “Wife, Husband “and Friend” is a very funny comedy. Everything would have been peace and quiet in a family if Loretta Young had not decided she could sing and if Warner Baxter had not told her she had a terrible voice. But Loretta decided and Warner told, and from that point on there is not a moment’s peace for them or a moment’s let-down for the audience. It is one riotous scene after another and the laughs are continuous. Hughie Green, the eighteen-year-old artist wins full honours lor versatility, singing and acting in “Melody and Romance.” He works tremendously hard, and it is difficult to choose the highlight of his performance. The star is ably supported by Margaret Lockwood, Janp Carr, Garry Marsh and Alastair Sim.
