VANDALISM AT LAKE
GATES TO BE CLOSED NIGHTLY A further report concerning vandalism in the grounds of the Hamilton Lake was submitted by the foreman at the monthly meeting of the Hamilton Domain Board last night. As a result of the foreman’s report that larrikins had been interfering with seats and other domain property, the board decided to close the Lake gates to motor vehicles at 7 o’clock each evening. A letter was received from the Hamilton Yacht Club, drawing attention to the danger of allowing boats in an unsafe condition on the Lake. The chairman, Mr F. A. Swarbrick, and Mr W. H. Paul were asked to present a report on the matter at the next meeting of the board.
Use of Hinemoa Park on March 18 and 20 was granted to the Hamilton Technical School and it was also decided to make the park available on April 2 for the annual combined secondary schools’ sports.
