HOUSEWARMING PARTY
MISS V. HALL HONOURED An enjoyable evening, held at the residence of Mrs J. A. Washer, Horotiu, was arranged by the Horotiu Anglicans as a housewarming to Mr and Mrs Washer, who have recently moved into their new home, and also in honour of the coming marriage of Miss Valmai Hall to Mr Selwyn Sampson, of Ngaruawahia. The evening was spent in competitions, games and musical items, which included a pianoforte trio by Misses Valmai, Leila and Melva Speedy,-a solo by Mrs Griffiths, a duet by Mesdames Griffiths and Martin, and humour by the Rev. D. 11. V. Michael. After supper had been served Miss Joyce Washer presented Mrs Hall with a pretty bouquet, and Mr Rogers, on behalf of those present, presented Miss Hall with a silver fruit dish and knives. Mr Rogers spoke of Miss Hall's many good qualities and her willing help at all times in local activities. Mr Sampson suitably replied on behalf of Miss Hall, who was then accorded musical honours.
