PETROL ALLOWANCE

INFORMATION DESIRED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday A request that the Government, in view of what had happened after the relicensing of motor-cars last year, should make known its intentions about petrol allowances to be available in the next three to six months, was made by the South Island Motor Union today. The resolution was carried after discussion in committee. Opposition to a recent resolution passed by the Dunedin Manufacturers’ Association urging further petrol restrictions was strongly expressed in another discussion held in committee. The meeting later announced that it had passed a resolution stating that it could see no reason for such a course.
