GENERAL ELECTION
CANDIDATE CHOSEN AUCKLAND SUBURBS SEAT AUCKLAND, Tuesday Mr Maxwell S. Walker' will contest the Auckland Suburbs seat in the interests of the National Party at the general election. He unsuccessfully contested this seat at the 1938 election. At present it is held by the Attorney-General, the Hon. H. G. R, Mason. The selection of Mr Walker was made at a meeting of delegates of the electorate held at Routley's Hall, Glen Eden. Mr Walker is a barrister and solicitor in Auckland. He attended the Bayfield Public School, and Auckland Grammar School and the Auckland University College, where he gradulated bachelor of laws. He was admitted to the bar in 1927, and in 1937-38 was president of the Junior National League. He is a member of the Auckland executive of the party.
