OFFER TO PRIME MINISTER MR S. G. HOLLAND’S PROPOSAL ELECTION .NOW FAVOURED (By Telegraph.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Monday The following resolution was carried by a meeting of representatives of various electorate committees of the National Party in the Wellington area. “That this meeting congratulates the Leader of the Opposition, Mr R. G. Holland on his offer to the Prime Minister, that after the general election all parties should form a National Government to remain in office for the duration of the war. Further, that as the present Government has declined, during the past 18 months of the war, to accept the proposals by the Opposition for the formation of a National Government, meeting urges that the people of New Zealand be given an opportunity to exercise their franchise.”
