PILOTS MISSING
AIR FORCE CASUALTIES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sunday Advice has been received that Ser-geant-Observer R. W. Brookman has been reported missing, believed killed in air operations. His mother is Mrs H. S. Brookman, Kelburn, Wellington. Sergeant—Observer Brookman was educated at the New Plymouth Boys’ High School and Wellington College. He proceeded overseas in June last. Pilot-Officer Michael Ormond, fifth son of Mr J. D. Ormond, of Walling—ford, has been reported missing. Two years ago Pilot-Officer Ormond, who is aged 19, left for England to study music. On the outbreak of war he joined the Royal Air Force. He has three brothers in the Expeditionary Force, all three holding commissioned ranks, Sergeant J. D. Ormond being awarded the 0.8. E. in the New Year Honours. Pilot-Officer Richard Lawson, son of Rear-Admiral Lawson, has been reported missing following an engagement over enemy territory. Pilot— Officer Lawson, who is aged 21, is a brother of Mrs A. Reeve, of Havelock North. Before the war he served with the Royal Tank Regi_ment and later was transferred to the Royal Air Force.
