Mrs Austin Carr, Auckland, was in Hamilton today for the Lennox-King —Farrer wedding. Mrs E. H. Apthorp, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at Milford and Auckland. Mrs C. P. Weatherhog, Hamilton, has returned from a short visit to Taupo. Mrs Guy Roberts, Hamilton, leaves during the week-end for a holiday at Manly, North Auckland. During her recent visit to Hamilton, Lady Myers visited the Red Cross , Depot in Ward Street, and inspected i the packing of materials and gave . helpful advice to the workers. She j also expressed pleasure at the work | being carried out at the depot, and ; with the quality of the materials sent j forward from the district. Mrs Eric Nolan and Mrs P. Cropper are Auckland visitors to Hamilton for the marriage of Miss Bid Farrer to Mr G. Lennox-King this afternoon. Mrs Mary Wallace, who has been residing in Cambridge, has returned to her home in Hamilton. Mrs Geoffrey Warren, Hamilton, will spend the next three weeks on holiday at Manly, North Auckland. Mrs J. Frier, Lyall Bay, Wellington, who has been visiting her mother, Mrs J. W. Porter, has returned home. Mrs A. Craig, Hamilton, has left to spend a holiday in Blenheim. Mrs Jack Patrick and Miss Iris Aiken, Hamilton, leave during the week-end for Christchurch. Miss Maisie Wilson, Hamilton, leaves during the week-end for a holiday in Rotorua. Miss Mavis Retter-Russell, who has been the guest of Mrs G. B. Foster, Hamilton, has returned to Dunedin. Miss A. Oates, Gisborne, is the guest of Mrs Hillary, Matangi. A most enjoyable concert was given at Taupiri recently to augment the funds for patriotic purposes. The accompaniments were played by Miss Mavis Laurenson and Messrs Bluett, and following were the performers:— Tap, operatic, character and toe dances, Misses Hazel Agnew, Norma Moreland, Avon Bluett, Margaret Stacey, Betty Magnell, Dawn Bell, Yvonne Collingwood, Joan Lowe, Joan Laurenson, Lotus Bell, Bernice Haines, Masters Donald Agnew and Roy Bluett; songs, Misses Jean Owens and Joy Rowe. Magazines and periodicals are urgently required for soldiers in the Waikato Hospital, and Mrs I. Owsley, of the Sunshine League, would be pleased to • receive donations, which may be left at the “ Dolly Varden,” or the Waikato Times. Miss Ngaio Marsh, the noted authoress, was a recent visitor to Ngaruawahia. Mrs Bruce Henderson, Ngaruawahia, is paying a visit to Dunedin. The Women’s Auxiliary Corps will hold a dance for men of the Forces in the Frankton Town Hall on Monday, March 10, the net proceeds of which will benefit patriotic funds. As a large number of soldiers is expected it is hoped there will be a good rally of girls to partner them. Mrs Cresswell and Mrs Johns will leave at the week-end to spend a holiday at Okete, Raglan. Mrs L. Monteith, Otorohanga, is the guest of her sister Mrs C. Masters. TE KAWA Mrs L. Gane and Miss Lonna Gane have returned home after spending several weeks at Mount Maunganui. Mrs A. M. Stewart has left for Wellington, where she intends staying for several months. Mrs D. Christie has returned home after several weeks’ holiday spent at Mercury Bay and Mount Maunganui. Mrs F. Thomas will leave on Tuesday to spend a holiday in Auckland. Miss P. Henderson has returned home from a holiday at Ohope Beach. Miss O. Stewart, who has been the guest of Mrs F. Thomas, has returned to her home in Auckland.
