FIGURES FOR 44 WEEKS INCREASE IN REVENUE (By Teleg-rspb.—Press Association) WELLINGTON, Thursday A net revenue of £191,050, or £8166 more than for the correspondingperiod last year, is shown by the railway working account for the lour weeks ended February 1, gazetted tonight. The returns for the railway year to date show a net revenue of £1,221,778 for the 44 weeks, an increase of £547,485 on the figure for the corresponding part of the year before. The gross revenue for the four weeks was £924,342, an increase of £34.796. Expenditure was £733,292, or £26,630 higher. Operating revenue in the North Island was £518,970, an increase of £6090. Expenses amounted to £402,142, or £20,210 more than in the corresponding period last year. Net earnings were £14,120 lower at £116,828. In the South Island receipts were £279,343 and expenses £246.675, increases of £17,106 and £3640 respectively. Net earnings at £32,668 were £13.466 higher. Net revenue from miscellaneous services was £4.1.554. Tne gross revenue was £126,029 and the expenditure £84,475. Revenue lor the 44 weeks from April 1 to February 1 was £9.1 18,947. an increase of £892,707 on the figure lor the same period last year. Expense , totalling £7,897,169, were higher.
