Mr C. L. Hunter, formerly a Department of Labour liaison officer, has been gazetted as a Conciliation Commissioner. The Hon. J. Alexander. M.L.C., Sir James Elliott, Dr. Muriel Emma Bell, and SJr G. A. Monk nave been appointed to the Board of Health for three years. Messrs A. H. Dixon, R. Hemming, W. M. Passmore, C. Mackley, C. A. Brown (Auckland), D. Ferguson and W. Otto (Papakura), are at the Hamilton Hotel. Superintendent A. Craig, of the Hamilton Fire Brigade, leaves this evening to attend the annual conference of the United Fire Brigades Association at Blenheim on March 10. The Rev. J. T. Holland, vicar of Featherston and son of the Bishop of Wellington, has been accepted for service as a chaplain with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force. The Rev. S. Robertson Orr, of Vancouver, Canada, ,s in Hamilton. He is concluding a lecture tour of the chief Dominion centres, under the auspices of the Auckland branch of the British Israel World Federation. Mr Orr was minister of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Wellington. before going to Canada 16 years ago. lie will speak in the Sstate Tneatre, Hamilton, on buiiday even in*.
