LETTERS OF THANKS
PARCELS AT CHRISTMAS appreciation of nurses (By Telpjrrapn.—press Association) WELLINGTON, Wednesday The growing file of letters of thanks the National Patriotic Fund Board has received for its activities on behalf of the New Zealand Forces has been added to recently by one from Matron D. Brown, of the New Zealand Army Nursing Service, who wrote on behalf of sisters of the Second New Zealand General Hospital in the Middle East. “ w e sisters of the New Zealand Army Nursing Service,” the letter states, “shall be most grateful if you would convey our sincere thanks to subscribers for the comforts so generously forwarded to us. We assure you they are gratefully appreciated.” Matron Brown makes special mention of Christmas comforts sent through the board. Cakes, puddings and shortbread travelled particularly well and had gained a richness in flavour en route. The honey included was a great luxury as they had received very little of this commodity. Letters expressing thanks for Christmas parcels have come also liom New Zealand soldiers, sailors and airmen.
