OBITUARY
MRS H. H. HERBERT The death has occurred of Mrs Daisy Herbert, wife of Mr H. H. Herbert, a well-known resident of Morrinsville. Deceased, who was a Miss Daisy Harding, was born in Auckland and spent her childhood in Inglewood, Taranaki, where later she was a popular and successful vocalist. After their marriage Mr and Mrs Herbert removed to Palmerston North, where Mr Herbert was on tji© New Zealand Railways staff, and from the Manawatu they went to the Te Aroha district, engaging in farming for about eight years. For the past thirteen years they resided in Morrinsville, and Mrs Herbert was able to take an active part in the work of the Morrinsville branch of the Women’s Division. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs H. R. Lawry (Waihi), and two sons, Messrs A. H. Herbert (Huntly) and R. E. Herbert (Morrinsville, but shortly going overseas with the Royal New Zealand Air Force). During the week following the close of the sale there is always a let of cleaning up to be dene while getting ready for the new season. This week is oddment week at Hooker and Kingston’s and amongst the many lines to be sacrificed are five only Axminster Carpet Squares, size 9ft. by 10ft. 6in., usually priced at £lB 10s to £2l 10s. These carpets are a wonderful snip at £l2 19s 6’d to clear and could not be replaced for twice the money. "Pay Cash and Pay Less'' at Hooker and Kingston Limited.**
