Copyriglit) LONDON, March 4 Raids last night included attacks on London, where fires were quickly dealt with, the western Midlands, the south-east and north-east coast and Scotland. Fires were started and some casualties caused. A coastal town in South Wales, later announced as Cardiff, had a severe raid, fire-bombs causing outbreaks in shop# and houses, but firefighters and householders got the fires rapidly under control. Further waves of raiders followed with high-explosive bombs. The attackers were met with a heavy antiaircraft barrage and at least one was shot down. A German four-engined bomber crashed in the Rosslare County, near Wrexford, on the coast of Ireland. One of the crew was killed and four were interned.
