GARDEN PARTY
CAMBRIDGE RED CROSS Enthusiasm and complete enjoyment were evident among the large number who attended a garden party arranged by the Cambridge sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society, when the perfect summer weather on Saturday was perhaps the dominant factor in the success of the function. “ Blairgowrie,” the residence of Mr and Mrs A. H. Nicoll. made a perfect setting for the animated scene of people moving about the lovely garden. Games were arranged, stalls and mystery parcels were well pati ronised and a display of clothing 1 made by Red Cross workers attracted great interest. | The function was honoured by the | presence of Major A. E. Gibbons, president of the Waikato Centre, who. 'during the afternoon, addressed the ! assembly before presenting certifiI cates won by members who are training for a voluntary aid detachment. Mrs H. C. Tod, president of the Cambridge sub-centre, was assisted ! by Mrs A. H. Nicoll in receiving the guests. Mrs Tod was wearing a model frock of dove grey heavy suede and a hat of blue ballibuntal straw. Mrs Nicoll wore a Miami blue tailored linen frock and a navy coarse straw hat, trimmed with navy spotted in white.
