Mrs W. Aubrey Smith, Hamilton, leaves tomorrow to spend six weeks in Dunedin, where she will further her studies in art. Mrs J. N. Ward. Auckland, and Mrs N. Stringer, Auckland, are the guests of Mrs S. R. Hawken, Hamilton. Mrs George Read, Auckland, is visiting Hamilton as the guest of Mrs Grenville Ward. Miss Pat Farrer will arrive in Hamilton from Dunedin this week to be bridesmaid at the wedding of her sister, Miss Bid Farrer, who will marry Mr G. Lennox-King, of Tokio, on Saturday, at the Southwell chapel. Mrs Hugh Fall well, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Mrs Heald, Auckland, is visiting her daughter, Mrs Christopher Cross, Hamilton. Mrs S. S. Hawken, Junr., has returned to Hamilton from a holiday at Mourn Maunganui. Mrs G. R. Bowden, Hamilton, is spending a holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Mrs A. O. Casey, Hamilton, is spending a few days holiday at Ngamotu Beach, New Plymouth. Mrs M. Gaze, New Plymouth, is spending a holiday at Hamilton and Auckland. Mrs J. Carson and her two daughters, of Forest Lake, have returned from a holiday at Raglan. Miss Anne Johanson has returned from a holiday in Nelson. As the result of efficient organisation and co-operation 1000 soldiers’ parcels were yesterday packed by members of the Hamilton Women’s Patriotic Society in 14 hours. Taking into consideration the number of articles in each parcel, and the care which must be taken in their packing, the time of 1£ hours seems almost incredible and reflects great credit on the many willing and nimble hands who did the work. Friends of Mr Noel Flyger, a member of the Royal New Zealand Navy, congregated at the Hamilton Station on Tuesday. A fountain pen and a sum of money were presented to him with all best wishes from the residents of Rukuhia. TE RORE Mrs E. Henrickson, Auckland, is spending a few days with her sister, Mrs W. McKinnon. Mrs Anderson is spending a few days at Taihape. Mrs Davis has returned to Auckland after a holiday with Mrs Sinclair. Miss F. Ruffe'., Nelson, is the guest of the Misses Duncan. CAMBRIDGE Mrs C. Meredith and Miss Joan Meredith were week-end visitors to Auckland. Miss Lois Talbot, of St. Peter’s School, was a visitor to Auckland during the week-end. Mrs S. Haines is spending a week’s holiday in Auckland as the guest of her mother, Mrs C. J. Allen, Northcote. Mrs Barclay-Favquahar, Fiji, is visiting Cambridge. Miss Molly Leay, Auckland, is visiting Mrs R. Newland, of Monavale. Mrs K. R. Kelsey, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs W. S. McEwen, of “ Craignall,” Pukeroro. OTOROHANGA Miss Joyce Smith is spending a holiday in Auckland. Mrs L. Wright has left for Morrinsville, where she will in future reside. Mrs C. Irvine has returned from a month’s holiday at the Mount, Tauranga. Miss Peggy Gordon leaves this week for the South Island. Mrs Denis Phillips was a visitor to Otorohanga during the week-end. Mrs A. A. Smith has left for a fortnight in Helensville. Mrs Oudaille, who has been visiting the South Island, was a visitor to Otorohanga on her way to Auckland. Miss E. M. Green, Dargaville, has joined the literary staff of the Otorohanga Times.
TE AROHA Mrs and Miss Slater, Auckland, are the guests of Mrs George Gilchrist, Herriesville. " t * * | Mrs Denys McMahon has returned to Auckland after spending a holiday in Te Aroha, as the guest of Mrs T. Shannon, Ruakaka. Mrs G. Hedge left for Auckland this morning for a few days. Miss Kathleen Caldwell is spending a fortnight’s holiday in Wellington. Miss Joy Miller has returned from Whaugarei. Miss Qona Turner, daughter of Canon and Mrs C. T. Turner, Te I Aroha, has been' successful in the j final examinations for a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was also awarded a senior scholarship in history.
