Professor S. E. Lamb, of the Auckland University College, is visiting Hamilton.
Mr D. D. O’Connor, the wellknown concert manager, is visiting Hamilton.
Mr A. M. Gould, of Auckland, is visiting Hamilton on Supreme Court business. With him is Mr E. J. V. Dyson, also of Auckland.
Dr. J. Hardie Neil, D. 5.0., of Auckland has been appointed regional deputy under the National Medical Committee for the Auckland district. *
Mr G. Hedge, who has been a member of the Te Aroha Borough Council for 22 years and has for many years been deputy-mayor, has decided not to seek re-election.
Mr R. W. Stevens, manager of the i Te Aroha branch of the Bank of New Zealand, has retired after complet- i ing 40 years’ service. Mr Savage, of j Matamata, has been appointed in his place.
Messrs F. C. Fenwick (Auckland), L. Salt, W_ Anderson, G. R. Ashbridge (Wellington), A. E. Rewcastle (Mokai), J. H. Mortlock. A. D. Tench (Christchurch) and J. Griffiths (Paeroa) arc at the Hamilton Hotel.
Mr T. M. Ball, second assistant en-gineer-in-chicf of the Public Works Department, has been promoted to the position of Assistant Engineer-in-Chief, succeeding Mr W. L. Newnham, who has been appointed head of Vlie Public Works Department.
