BRITAIN'S NEED
GREATER THAN EVER HELP FROM AMERICA CENSORSHIP CRITICISED (United Press Asn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) j (Received Nov. 26, 3.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 25 “ The censorship has harmed Britain’s cause more than a whole night’s bombing by the Germans,” declares the London correspondent of the New York Times. “ Even British newspapers are printing German communiques, in order to tell their readers what is going on at home. It is Alice in Wonderland journalism, whereby the censors have succeeded in fooling only their best friends. i “ They want war materials from the United States, which they can only get by informing the United States of the extremity of such need. Yet every American correspondent causes the censor to rear up on his hind legs when he suggests that everything is not ‘ hunkydory.’ The fact remains that everything is not hunkydory because Britain’s need of help is greater than ever.” \ NORTHERN IRELAND | LORD CRAIGAVON’S SUCCESSOR LOYALTY TO BRITAIN NO UNION WITH EIRE (United Tress Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) (Received Nov. 26, 3.15 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 25 Mr J. M. Andrews succeeds Viscount Craigavon as Prime Minister of Northern Ireland pending the party’s decision. Mr Andrews, in his most recent speech in July, said: “A union of Eire and Ulster on Mr de Valera’s terms is unthinkable, because it would mean that Ulster must be neutral. “Joint Anglo-Eire-Ulster action is essential for the defence of the British Isles.” He would welcome such a scheme. Mr de Valera issued the following statement: “Despite his views I cherished the hope that Lord Craigavon wpuld yet play a leading part in reuniting our country. I liked him personally. What a pity he is dead while the thing he supported lives.”
