ARRIVAL IN GREECE SAPPERS AND AIRMEN • United Press Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright) LONDON, Nov. 25 Warships landed a number of English and New Zealand airmen in a Greek harbour, and they received : a tremendous ovation. ' Bulletins from the British Broadcasting Corporation yesterday stated that New Zealand sappers and airmen were included in British forces which arrived at a Greek port some days ago on a famous British warship, to make up the full complement to complete and maintain British air : bases. ! The men received a wonderful well come; thousands of Greeks on the ! hillsides cheered themselves hoarse : as the men disembarked. ! British Broadcasting Corporation bulletins last night stated that during the voyage of the ship which carried the troops to Greece, the men did not see a hostile aeroplane or ship. Statement by Government The Government Publicity Office issued the following statement last j night from the Prime Minister’s Dei partment: “There has been some : mention today in British Broadcast- : ing Corporation broadcasts of New Zealand troops being among those ! who have landed in Greece. There : is no authoritative information to hand on this point, and if any such • ! official information is received it will be made known immediately.”
