WEDDING

PARKER—PENNY VICTORIAN BRIDAL GOWN Arum lilies formed a charming floral background in St. Peter’s j Cathedral, Hamilton, on the afternoon of. Saturday, September 21, when Enid Frances, second daughter of Mr and Mrs C. A. Penny, of Bridgman Road, Te Awamutu, was married to Thomas William, second son of Mr and the late Mrs G. M. Parker of Judea, Tauranga. The Very Rev. T. P. Weatherhog, Dean of Hamilton, was the officiating minister. The bride, who entered the church with her brother, Mr Eric Penny, wore a lovely Victorian gown of tulle featuring a slim-fitting bodice and a bouffant skirt. Her ivory tulle veil fell from a coronet of orange blossom and she carried a bouquet of white hyacinths and sweet peas arranged with maidenhair fern. The Attendant In attendance as matron-of-hon-our, was Mrs Harold Hocking, of Waiuku, and Josephine Graham, niece of the bridegroom, was the flower girl. Mrs Hosking was wearing a frock of blue net cut on similar lines to those of the bride’s frock with rows of blue lace finishing the skirt. A coronet of pleated net adorned with tiny flowers was worn on the hair and she carried a bouquet of blue hyacinths and fern. The flower girl’s frock was of pink net, the full skirt being finished with true-lovers knots of a deeper pink ribbon. A pleated net halo was worn on the hair and a basket of blue forget-me-nots was Con ed. Mr N. Mcßurney, of Ngaruawahia, was the best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mrs J. H. Graham, Hamilton East, where M* s Penny received her guests wearing a navy blue ensemble with a toning hat and she carried a posy of primroses. Mrs Graham, sister of the bridegroom, was wearing a smart tailored costume with a hat to tone and she carried a posy of anemo les. The bride travelled wearing a black tailored suit with a matching hat and accessories. Mr and Mrs T. W. Parker will make their home in Hamilton.
