CLAIM FOR £400,000
ACTION BY FILM STAR AUTHOR AND PUBLISHER SUED Errol Flynn, the film star, is suing certain publishers and authors for £400,000 for relating an incident that took place before 1939, when he visited Spain and was wounded on the Madrid front during the civil war there. Flynn asserts that the narrative as set forth implies that he would stoop to any means for the purpose of obtaining publicity. The statements in the book, he says, are malicious and untrue and have brought him into public scandal, hatred, ridicule and disgrace in Hollywood’s Beverly Hills, where they received wide circulation. He demands £200.000 compensatory damages and £200,000 punitive damages.
