NEW ZEALAND ACTOR

ENLISTMENT IN CANADA COLIN TAPLEY AS AIRMAN The New Zealand film actor, Colin Tapley, together with Patric Knowles and Robert Coote, has passed the medical examination for the Royal Canadian Air Force. He is now training to be a gunner. In a letter just received from him Colin writes: “I am now the lowest form of animal life in the Royal Canadian Air Force — in other words, a private. I am on my way to Regina, Saskatchewan, where I go into training.” Richard Greene, afraid that his second venture to join the services might be construed as publicity, left secretly for England early in September. May Beattie and her daughter Hinemoa ("Bunny”)—May, as you know, is a New Zealand actress—do a great deal of excellent work to provide comforts for British soldiers.
