BUDGET DEFICIT
IN NEW SOUTH WALES TREASURER'S STATEMENT REMISSIONS OF TAXATION (United rrese Assn.—Elec. Tel. Copyright* SYDNEY, Oct. 17 Delivering the Budget last night in the New South Wales Assembly, the Treasurer. Mr A. Richardson, estimated that the deficit for the year would be £1,539,000. He explained that there would be no additional taxation, but remissions of taxation aggregating £500,000 would be made to persons with dependants whose salaries did not exceed £4 os a week. They would be exempt from the payment of the wages and social services tax. Travelling concessions and other privileges, which would be granted to men in the fighting services and in training for home defence, would cost the Government in the current year in the vicinity of £850,000..
