CLAY BIRD SHOOT

EVENTS AT MELVILLE McMIKEN’S GOOD DAY There was a good attendance at the Hamilton Gun Club’s shoot at Melville on Saturday. Messrs McMiken and Prentice succeeded in winning trophies. Following are the results:— Eye-opener.—The following shot the possible and divided the money: McMiken. Brinkworth. Bogun. Ryan, Allison, Duncan, Dobson and Boswell. Second sweepstakes, 10 birds.—The following shot the possible and divided first and second: McMiken and Dold. Trophy shoot, first prize trophy donated by the club: second prize, trophy donated by Bogun, sen.— McMiken and Prentice shot the possible and divided the sweepstake, and in the shoot-off for the trophy McMiken proved the winner. Points for the Bogun Aggregate Cup stand as follows:—Bogun 53. Brinkworth 52. The November and December shoots will decide the cup. Gimcrack. seven birds.—McMiken, Bogun. Boswell and Percival shot the possible ar.d divided the sweepstake. During afternoon tea the president, Mr W. Percival, presented the trophies to Messrs McMiken and Prentice.
