OBITUARY
MR WALTER DAVIDSON (Special to Times) OTOROHANGA, Thursday The death has occurred of a wellknown resident of Otorohanga, Mr Walter Davidson, aged 86. Born in Launceston, Tasmania, he was the son of a sheep farmer of that district. Fifty-seven years ago he arrived at Amberley, North Canterbury. After living for other periods in Banks Peninsula and Palmerston North, Mr Davidson took up a Crown section of 199 acres in the Otorohanga district. He and his family lived under canvas for the first year. The eldest son, William, who was badly gassed in the Great War, died in 1936, and the second son, Tasman, was killed accidentally. There survive one son, Mr W. J. Davidson, of Dargaville, and three daughters, Mesdames Fowler, Tahuna, Nichols, Dairy Flat, and Anderson, Frankton. MR GEORGE CAMERON RUGBY UNION PRESIDENT (Special lo Tunes) TE KUITI, Thursday The death occurred on Tuesday of Mr George Cameron, aged 59, president of the King Country Rugby Union and of the Maniapoto SubUnion. He was a past president of the Waitomo Labour Representation Committee and a member of the Te Kuiti Borough Council. He was a contractor for the greater part of his life, having worked on the Otira tunnel, with the Hon. R. Semple among those who worked under him. He is survived by his wife, a family of nine, avid 15 grandchildren.
