SCHOOL MATERIALS
MONEY FOR ARTS AND CRAFTS GRANT TO CAMBRIDGE (Special to Times.) CAMBRIDGE, Thursday The Cambridge School Committee was advised at its monthly meeting that the Auckland Education Board would shortly pay to the credit of the committee the sum of £ls, to be spent on the purchase of arts and crafts materials, and equipment required for the use of pupils in the secondary department. No additional grant would be available this year. It was suggested that where possible pupils should be required to pay the cost of materials used in articles which they took away from the school. Moneys so derived could be used for purchasing further supplies of materials. The committee decided to write to the board asking what was to be done in the matter of the Fencourt School bus service. Mr Garrard reported having met Mr D. W. Dunlop, secretary to the Auckland Education Board, in connection with schooling facilities for the children of the workers at Karapiro. Nothing further had been heard of the matter. The headmaster stated that the primary roll stood at 406 and the secondary roll at 80.
