Wilson and John Dory ran seven rurlongs in 1.3 1. Chatsbury was going easily alongside Atlas In 1.29. Apostrophe, who is improving every day, defeated Indignity over a mile in 1.41. Tragopan moved freely over a mile and nve luriongs, taking 2.56, the last mile and a-ciuurter in 2.15. Ajax showed no signs of lameness In recording 39As for three furlongs. Tidal Wave, Gold Salute and Gladynev separately ran two furlongs in 27 3s. All are lit. Historian was not extended to register I.IS lor six l'ui longs. At Flemington, on the inside grass track, Early Bird was impressive in completing seven furlongs in 1.284. Freckles covered six furlongs in 1.18. Citadel, always a smart track galloper, registered 1.1 7 A. Beautv Spot and Running Sea separately ran half a mile in 5 2s. Ortelle’s Star beat Berry over a mile run in 1.18. Lucrative galloped five rurlongs in 1.2 at .Mentone, Distinction recorded 1.4, All Veil and Bursary running six furlongs in Gladstone is suffering from muscular trouble and is a doubtful starter in the Caulileld Cup. Latest scratchings are: Caulfield Guineas: Malta. Toorak Handicap: Judean, Curiosity, Cyron. Willowdene. High Caste also is a doubtful runner in the Toorak Handicap. Horses with New Zealand associations who are acceptors for Saturday’s racing Weller Handicap: Glaciate, 9.7; Saint Warden, 9.0; Manawatu, 8.4. Power Handicap: Wilson, 8.6; Gladynev, 7.11; Companion, 7.2.
