CLOSE OF SEASON

ORINI GOLF CLUB To mark the close of a very successful golf season, the Orini Golf Club held an enjoyable dance recently in the Tenfoot Hall which was beautifully decorated with native palms and the club colours. The music was supplied by Mrs Matangi’s orchestra. The members of the committee were Mesdames F. Bently, F. J. Farrell, V. Farrington, E. Sutherland and Misses V. Edge and M. Anderson. During the evening the president, Mr F. Bentley, presented the trophies won during the season to the following: Miss W. Knight, silver championship cup presented by Mrs W. Waring; Miss T. Houghton, silver handicap cup donated by the club; Consolation. Mrs T. Bums; ringer competition. Mrs F. J. Farrell; handicap ringer. Miss V. Edge. Those present were: Mesdames F. Bently, W.
