MORRINSVILLE MARKET PAT -SiHEEP FIRM Steady competition ruled in most sections at the weekly Morrins'vi'lle stock sale yesterday when average entries were forward. Bidding came slowly for dairy cattle, however, and values were not so favourable to vendors. . Passings were not infrequent. Fat sheep entries consisted mainly of hoggets, which sold freely at late rates Rest hoggets were traded from 2t»s to 33s with others realising from 2 is 9d to 285 od. A limited number of shorn wethers changed hands from 2‘ss to 2‘B-s Gd, and best woolly ewes were knocked down from 20s to 2us od, with others selling from 22s Od to i2ss. No Enthusiasm Shown Prime cattle were forward lti fair numbers with a few pens of light to medium bullocks. There was little enthusiasm about bidding, but late rates were generally repeated. Good, medium-weight bullocks sold at £l2 19S and light descriptions from £9 10s to £in 18s. In the eow and heifer beef section extra heavy prime cattle were traded from £9 to £l*». hca'-y prime from £7 13s to £8 17s Od. and fat sorts from £f> 5s to £7 ss. Competition for fat pigs was not quite as spirited and values 011 the whole were just a shade lower. Store pigs were again dear.
