FAREWELL FUNCTION

MR AND MRS J. S. ROBERTSON A pleasant function was held in the Matamata Fire Brigade Hall when members *of the post office staff and friends gathered to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs J. S. Robertson and their daughter, Joan. Mr Robertson has been transferred to Pukekohe. Dancing occupied the major portion of the evening, Mr T. M. Hunt being an efficient master of ceremonies. Mr and Mrs R. White and Mr S. Holland supplied the music, and the latter, who recently returned from Sydney, delighted those present with two violin solos. During the evening, Mr A. Edmonds, on behalf of fellow employees, presented a silver cake dish to Mr Robertson as a token of esteem. Mrs Robertson was presented with a posy. Mr Edmonds spoke in eulogistic terms of the guests-of-honour, and wished them success in their new sphere. Mr Robertson suitably responded.
