“TIT FOR TAT”

(To the Editor) Sir,—The recent horrible attack on innocent children has caused universal condemnation among civilised Powers. At the same time, we must not forget that war is not a nice game to play. Germany knows how to play the game to the last atrocity. We must now come to that stage when we must play that game according to the lines laid down by the enemy. We cannot afford to continue along lines of gentlemen’s i agreements. To win, we must now take off the gloves and discard all rules of civilised warfare.—l am, etc., BULL DOG Hamilton, September 25.
